Earlier this week, Vice President and Presumptive Democratic Nominee Kamala Harris announced her running mate. Harris went far to the left, selecting Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, cementing the most liberal presidential ticket in United States History.
Harris’s radical record was previously covered in a Common Sense article, being named as Washington’s most liberal senator during her tenure.
It was assumed Harris would choose a more moderate candidate for Vice President given her extremely liberal policy preferences. In a shocking move, Harris went further to the left, choosing an arguably more liberal candidate than herself.
How liberal is Governor Tim Walz? Here’s the bullet points:
As Governor, Walz signed HF146, a bill allowing the state to strip custody from parents seeking to prevent their kids from undergoing sex-change surgeries.
Just a few months ago, Walz signed HF2497, a bill mandating that Minnesota schools provide tampons in boys bathrooms.
Walz is extreme on abortion, signing HF1, a bill that legalizes abortion up until the moment of birth. Walz stated at a campaign rally that he was so extreme on abortion that even Nacy Pelosi asked him to tone down his rhetoric.
Governor Walz allowed the Minneapolis riots to occur, resulting in looting, burning, millions of dollars in damages, and death.
Walz is a proud socialist, telling supporters on a live stream that, “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Walz issued caps on Thanksgiving get-togethers at 10 people before asking people to stay home altogether.
To ensure compliance with his COVID-19 guidelines, Walz set up a state funded hot-line for people to report neighbors who are not following Walz’s mandates.
In 2023, Walz signed a bill providing illegal immigrants with the ability to obtain a Minnesota driver’s license, making it easier for illegal immigrants to vote.
Walz signed bills providing illegal immigrants access to taxpayer funded health care and tuition.
Governor Walz opposed Donald Trump’s border wall, saying he would invest in a 30-foot ladder company to assist illegal immigrants in breaking federal law.
Walz told an MSNBC anchor that, “We need to push back on Freedom of Speech. There’s no right to free speech on misinformation or hate speech.”
Walz signed a bill to eliminate gas powered products by 2040, signaling his dedication to climate alarmism and Green New Deal polices.
Walz is currently wrapped up in a scandal regarding Stolen Valor. While Walz was a National Guardsman in 2005, his battalion was deployed to Iraq. A fellow Guardsman said that when it was time for deployment, Walz left them “high and dry” to run for Congress.
Walz’s governor’s website claims that he has “carried a gun in war”, despite never experiencing active combat.
The Stolen Valor Act of 2005 states that it is a misdemeanor to falsely claim military service.
